TECHNOLOGY COMMONS

Independent communities. Shared possibility.

A commons is created when a small group of technical builders come together to explore bold ideas, stress-test assumptions, and transform concepts into reality. With time, the commons grows into a thriving community, welcoming new members and unlocking increasing opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and shared success.

WHAT IS A COMMONS?

Where ideas are shared,
debated, and built together.

Inspired by the legendary spirit and format of Silicon Valley's South Park Commons, our mission is simple: the best companies start before there is a company at all, from -1 to 0.

We meet once a month, on a day and at a time that work for the group, primarily in person, with select virtual sessions. Bring your rawest idea. We will debate it, test it, and rebuild it. If it sparks, we prototype. If it works, we help it become a company.

We are not an incubator, not a co-working space, not a networking group. We are a commons.

Two rules: Everyone contributes. Everything stays in the commons.

OUR GEOGRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT

Local relationships.
A wider horizon.

Formed · ready to operate

Taiwan

Taiwan Commons has formed and is ready to become operational. All its current members are affiliated with universities in Taiwan, and there is room for another four or five members.

Participation begins with a conversation. The Commons decides on membership.

Operational

San Francisco Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area Commons is operational and can accommodate a few additional members.

We welcome conversations with people interested in contributing to its formation.

In development

Chicago

Chicago is an area of active Commons development, with relationships and a local community still being built.

We welcome researchers, entrepreneurs, and supporting organizations who want to explore the idea.

THE ROLE OF GLOBAL HQ

Support for
independent Commons.

All commons are independently created and operated. Global HQ hosts this website and facilitates Commons creation. It can share ideas and educational resources when needed and help Commons identify venture-capital sources.

If no Commons exists where you are, contact us to explore its formation. A conversation begins the process; it does not establish a Commons or guarantee investment.
